We offer competitive benefits including health insurance and 401k. Our wage scale is between $18 and $34 starting, based on experience and additional qualifications. Each application will be reviewed by TR Concrete's Masonry Superintendent. Once applications are reviewed, qualified applicants will be contacted by the Masonry Superintendent for a phone interview.

Pre-employment drug screen is required of applicants. Employment offer is based on completing a CRT physical fitness test.

 

CONCRETE FINISHER - EXPERIENCED

Job description:

We are currently looking for dedicated and hard-working individuals with 3 or more years of experience as a Concrete Finisher to join our team. We provide a fun work atmosphere, with a team oriented, positive attitude. Come join an industry leader in commercial concrete and masonry work. This position requires set up and pour concrete for footings, poured walls, poured piers, slab on grade, topping slabs and sidewalks. The position requires the ability to form footings, piers and walls, finish slabs and rub walls. The ideal candidate will need to be proficient in using concrete tools including finishing equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to include but not limited to circular saws, demolition saws, jig saws, grinders, jackhammers, concrete saws, etc
  • Setting of concrete forms and wall panels that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them.
  • Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
  • Erect Scaffolding
  • Grade subbase for concrete pours including shoveling and raking of dirt, gravel or sand
  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, and floats.
  • Produce broomed and smooth troweled concrete surface
  • Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
  • Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete, and move chute to direct concrete in forms.
  • Apply curing, hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete.
  • Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.
  • Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
  • Cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and position reinforcing rods to repair concrete, using power saw and drill.
  • Wet concrete surface, and rub with stone to smooth surface and obtain specified finish
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Must be able to meet or exceed daily quotes
  • Must have the ability to work long hours
  • Must meet or exceed our quality standards
  • Reliable transportation of their own to job sites
  • Maintain a clean jobsite, pick up all tools and equipment and secure jobsite each day
  • Material loading and unloading, hauling and hosting of materials
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect Company operations.
  • Provide other support whether apparent, required or needed.
  • Complete additional projects as developed and assigned by your supervisor or management.

Experience and knowledge:

  • 2 years of concrete work experience
  • Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid driver's license

Employees must provide for daily use the following tools for this position:

  • Carpenters tool belts, hand trowels, tape measure, hammer, speed square, 4’ level, torpedo level, chalk line, utility knifes, gloves and rubber boots
